First Blog

Here's goes...

I've been thinking about blogging for quite some time...even created one once, I have but have always gone back to pen and paper. After facebooking for over a year, I've decided it's this that I like the best - putting the full thoughts in view - for whomever might be interested...or maybe just me.

My life is ever-changing yet very consistent. The one thing that stays the same for me day after day is my intense passsion for raising children who love the Lord and who exhibit godly character. This doesn't happen overnight. It's a two-steps-forward-one-step-back process. Often...well, most of the time, producing the results that we want in our children often takes years.

My husband refers to this like the process of water on a rock.  It often takes years for water to make a dent or a new groove in a rock or a boulder....maybe decades of gushing water or years of a steady stream washing over the same place of the rock before the rock changes shape.  It's the same way with people.

However, I want things to happen quickly - after saying or teaching them only one time....:)) That doesn't usually happen. So I chose "Water on the Rock" as my blogspot...to remind myself of that process every time I blog. My prayer is that I can use this medium to be very real and honest and encouraging about the ways the water gushes upon the rocks that are in my view....and ultimately that My Savior can be glorified.

  1. What an inspiring perspective. I may steal this analogy from you! We live near Johnson's Shut-Ins... a place where water has defined the rocks. It is an incredibly beautiful place. The intensity of the water changes from week to week depending on the rainfall. I am pulling so many connections from that!!!

I am excited to become a follower of your blog. And, look forward to your insights on raising Godly children.
